THE SUNDAY CONCERT: Lee Ritenour and Dave Grusin with friends, live in Murcia

As a kid I loved listening to Lee Ritenour. I used to have a couple of radio programs in Australia (I was barely 18) and the technical people at the Radio Station used to tell me that his music was overproduced, and that they preferred people who could reproduce their music live just as it was in a recording.

Obviously they had not seen these guys live.

Was it overproduced? Perhaps, but as far as I can rememeber, the same songs sound almost as good as they play in front of a huge audience (and probably better as they are a bit more relaxed).

Here he is with the great composer Dave Grusin at the 20th Festival de Jazz de San Javier in Murcia, Spain in
July, 2017

Setlist:
The Village
Stone Flowers
Chovendo Na Roseria
Wes Bound
4 on 6
Ohla Maria
A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That
Wild Rice
Rio Funk

Lee Ritenour (guitar)
Dave Grusin (piano & kbd)
Tom Kennedy (bass)
Wes Ritenour (drums)

Enjoy!

Until next time!

THE SUNDAY CONCERT: The Guitars of World Jazz (Newport Festival in the Netherlands)

Another great Sunday Concert.

Three of the all time greatest jazz guitarists perform their unique skills on the guitar: Barney Kessel, Herb Ellis and the great Charlie Byrd.

All gone but very much alive as we watch them on stage live in this wonderful concert.

Enjoy!

Until next time!
