ALPERIN: THE ART OF RHYTHM (Formal opening event, September 7th)

ALPERIN: THE ART OF RHYTHM OPENING

An honor and a pleasure to be there. Great Exhibition space, wonderful art program that has been going on for more than 16 years and with District Court Judge Peter J. Messitte at its helm.

The exhibition is composed of 46 paintings of different sizes, painted in the last 8 years. It began on August 5th and will end on October 20th.

 

The exhibition ends Friday October . I am donating 10% of everything produced from the sale of my works to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund.

ALPERIN: VISITING THE NATIONAL GALLERY IN DC

A LATE SUMMER VISIT TO WASHINGTON DC


Come with me for a visit to Washington DC on a very nice Summer afternoon.

 

We´ll visit the National Gallery East Building, then the West Building with all its wonderful abstracts, and the National Gallery´s Sculpture Garden.

Finally, we will have a short drive around Washington DC and then we will do a short visit to the St. John Paul II National Shrine, which is within the Campus of the Catholic University of America (sister university to my Catholic University of Argentina).

MOVING BACK THE CLOCK

ALPERIN: CITY BIKE (FROM 2008)

It was in the middle of 2007 that I started work on this painting.

For some reason (most probably the fact that bike lanes had been built in my city and bikes had started popping up where before you would only see trucks, cars, and buses) the theme caught my eye (there is a vastly different City Bike II as well that came after).

It is a crazy bike. Speedy, splashing, rushing in the middle of a late afternoon in a big town. And yet there is no one on it.

It just rides on its own. It´s a new urban dweller with a life, mind and purpose that is separate and free from whomever theoretically owns it.

It´s leaving everything behind, lonely, purposeful, and yet we don´t know where it´s going. From our point of view, it is just passing us by, as if saying:”sorry, I have somewhere to go, another place to be”.

ART AND CREATIVITY IN MANASSAS/PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VIRGINIA

Last April I had the pleasure of visiting the Center for the Arts of Greater Manassas and Prince William County, in the beautiful State of Virginia.

What was a 7 week exhibition ended with a short lecture on the creative process and a Jazz and Tango event in the evening.

It was a great pleasure to meet everyone and to enjoy such appreciation of the artistic process.

I want to thank everyone involved for their warmth and generosity. I hope to visit that beautiful town again soon and visit some more of the important historical sights surrounding this area of Virginia.

ALPERIN: WINE & ART 2017, BUENOS AIRES

EXPLORANDO EL DON CREATIVO EN WINE&ART (BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA)

En Abril fui invitado, una vez más, por la incansable y gentil Ligia Janeiro, factotum de ArtWork Eventos de Arte, para participar de una nueva edición de Wine&ART, la expo de arte que realiza todos los años en los muy lindos salones del Hipódromo Argentino de Palermo.

Durante dos días seguidos realizamos 2 conferencias sobre creatividad, innovación, el proceso artístico, el marketing artístico y el mercado del arte.

Agradezco enormemente a todos los artistas que se acercaron a disfrutar de un momento juntos tanto el sábado 1 como el domingo 2 de Abril.

Allí también tuvo el gusto de presentar una nueva obra (IT NEVER ENTERED MY MIND) y de encontrarme con gente muy interesante que se acercó a Wine&ART atraídos por la constante y excelente oferta artística.
